My Baby Part 3
This Easter was Chaz's 2nd official Easter, but last year we were both still in the hospital as he was born on Good Friday. As we were eating, Chaz was sitting in his chair (happy as usual). My cousin's 18 month old daughter brought a single baby blue oversized lego over, and offered it to Chaz. Their exchanged expressions were priceless as it seemed as though their spirits recognized one another. Chaz ecstactically took the block from Sophie and played and discovered and enjoyed that one single block for several minutes.
When we are asked to become like little children, I think contemplating on such simple moments can teach so much. As adults, we tend to complain, expect, and entitle ourselves to things. What if we basked in joy at the simplest free gifts that life has to offer (trees blooming, Birds singing, children laughing)?
I am thankful for such a poignant reminder gifted to me from Chaz, Sophie, and a simple baby blue giant lego.
As I thought of this again and again, the song above came to mind. I am so thankful for my little buddy, sweetness boy, who teaches me so much. Kids are full of lessons if we are aware and we listen to them with our hearts. If we do this, the speckles of sand in our own hourglass can be filled with beauty, wonder, and life changing spiritual lessons.
